The Black Panther Party is an organization that was created by Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton. They developed this organization on October 15, 1966. They set forth a doctrine that primarily focused on protection of African-American neighborhoods from police brutality. Their goal was to achieve four things: Equality in education, housing, employment, and civil rights. The Black Panthers were the most widely known black militant organization of the late 1960's. The Black Panthers attracted widespread support among many African Americans. The founders of the group wore distinctive black leather jackets and black berets and often owned and carried weapons. The Black Panthers were always attracting attention of local police and FBI. The group was defiant which lead to many deadly shootouts.
